Jazz in the Showbar: Julie Lewis & Ian Ellis

Vocalist/pianist Julie Lewis is a unique talent on the south west jazz scene. Her intuitive and expressive piano playing perfectly complements a soft and soulful vocal, that together produce an honest and unpretentious performance that never fails to charm her audience.

Ian Ellis has worked as a professional jazz saxophonist since 1985 and has performed live and recorded with stars such as Ruby Turner, Gwilym Simcock, Arturo Sandoval, and Rumer. Jazz Wise Magazine has hailed him as a “virtuoso saxophonist, one of our very best”.

The duo will perform a wide selection of material, from jazz classics to clever re-interpretations of pop and folk songs. This promises to be a relaxing and mellow evening with music from an artist who performs from the heart.
