SoundCellar Presents: The Bossa Definitiva Trio with Roger Beaujolais

Vibraphone player Roger Beaujolais has been a well-established musician since the ’80s when he found early success touring with the bands Chevalier Brothers and Fairground Attraction, and later became heavily involved with the ’90s acid jazz movement. Since then, he has worked with some of the biggest names on the UK jazz scene, and as a session musician, he has worked with everyone from Robert Plant to Paul Weller. As a bandleader, he has produced many albums with his quartet, and his latest album, Bags of Vibes, is a tribute to Milt Jackson and features the great Scottish guitarist Jim Mullen.
The Bossa Definitiva Trio is fronted by Paris born singer Véronique Joly, who was the featured vocalist on the BBC series ‘Rick Stein: French Odyssey’ and sings in English, French and Portuguese. Canadian saxophonist Terry Quinney is co-leader of the ‘The Sound Of Blue Note’ band and he has performed with UK jazz icons such as Nigel Price, Ian Shaw, Alan Barnes and Jim Mullen. Guitarist Rob Palmer is a member of the Afrobeat band Thokozile, has toured and recorded with pianist John Law and saxophonist Jon Lloyd, and has also worked with Soft Machine saxophonist Theo Travis, Jamiroquai keyboard player Matt Johnston, USA jazz singer Lila Ammons, and ECM recording artist Philipp Wachsmann.
