Jazz in The Showbar – Sarah Bolter & Rob Palmer

Sarah Bolter- Vocals/Saxes/Clarinet & Flute
Sarah began performing at just 11 years old, making her solo debut on clarinet with the Johnny Howard Big Band at the Bournemouth Pavilion. By 13 she was playing most weekends with the New Dorset Dance Orchestra, and at 15 joined her first original band, spending school holidays recording and guesting on albums at Arnie’s Shack studio. Sarah studied at Southampton University, specialising in jazz alto and classical soprano saxophone, and formed her band Not Just Sax, which has released six albums, the most recent produced by Derek Nash. She later formed Sarah Bolter & Sax in the City, performing widely across the UK and at leading London venues. Alongside her bands, Sarah works as a freelance session, pit musician and teacher, performing at major festivals, theatre productions and on numerous recordings.

Rob Palmer – guitar
Guitarist Rob Palmer has toured and recorded with pianist John Law, saxophonist Jon Lloyd, Soft Machine saxophonist Theo Travis and Jamiroquai keyboard player Matt Johnston. In addition to this he has toured with USA jazz singer Lila Ammons and rising sax star Tom Waters. Rob also co-runs the SoundCellar jazz club.
