Artist’s Talk – Tim Edgar (Free Entry)

Tim Edgar will be in conversation about his work “Fragile Geometries”, on display in the first floor foyer from March 14 th – April 29th.

Tim Edgar’s work explores the tension between precision and imperfection, structure and entropy. Using the grid as both a foundation and a fragile construct, he creates drawings that reveal the vulnerability of geometric order. Influenced by scientific
models and natural systems, his practice investigates how materials (graphite, ink, paper), deteriorate, resist, and transform. Each mark becomes an inquiry into the limits of control, where a subtle randomness disrupts perfection. His drawings embody the delicate balance between rigidity and collapse, stability and decay — mirroring the delicate balance found in both nature and science.

His work is currently included in “Paper Works” at the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol. As well as his practice as an Artist he is a Contextual Studies Lecturer at the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) and for the Online College of Art & Design (OCAD).
