Part Four: Portixol / Esplendido

Portixol are a relatively new addition to the players, having released a modest but extremely relevant amount of albums, Portixol and sister venue Esplendido, have jumped in with both feet and their releases are unique in content, with a slight left-field nod towards the style of Hotel Costes, which edges towards lounge-inspired rather than out and out chilled beats – it’s cheeky and ironic in its style, which both Portixol and Esplendido ooze.

Nestled within some of the most breathtaking corners of Mallorca, since 1999 Portixol and Esplendido have been committed to culture and sport, actively participating in initiatives that reflect the spirit of the community through the Palma Sport & Tennis Club or the Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival and Mallorca Live Festival – where the roots of its unique twist towards the chillout scene are shared and live music is also celebrated annually.

Esplendido is ideally situated in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, known for its natural beauty and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In the Port of Sóller it is easy to marvel at its sunsets, mountain views, its charming beach and the seafront promenade with its historic tram – the atmosphere portraying the feel of the end of a Mediterranean day…
