Not Just Sax are a quartet of professional musicians from the south led by Sarah Bolter on sax, flute, clarinet and vocals. The band share a love of melodic, rhythmic jazz and enjoy pushing the boundaries of the idiom with both a variety of well known jazz favourites and more obscure choices. Often billed as Count Basie to Carole King, the band enjoy a wide repertoire and appeal to audiences of all ages.

All musicians have worked on the music scene for many years appearing at a number of Jazz clubs, theatres and festivals including IOW, Swanage, Scarborough and Lyme Regis and venues including Pizza Express Dean Street, The Pheasantry and Toulouse Lautrec in Kennington.

Sarah works full time as a musician and teacher and has run her own band since 2001. Sarah also guests with many other bands in a variety of genres and is lead tenor player and vocalist with the Changing Colours Jazz Orchestra. Pianist Phil Doyle is highly sought after for his piano skills and has been the piano player for the Joe Loss band for twenty years. Double bass player Pete Maxfield is one of a kind and has toured with Andy Sheppards band Sphere, whilst drummer Andy Chapman is so high in demand on the circuit for his excellent drumming skills that he is rarely home!
