The Bossa Definitiva Trio – A tribute to Getz/Gilberto Vocalist Véronique Joly and saxophonist Terry Quinney present a trio, with guitarist Rob Palmer, which plays the cool Bossa Nova sounds of Stan Getz and Astrud and Joao Gilberto. The trio will perform material from iconic Getz/Gilberto album (which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2024) and also present some more contemporary songs from the genre. Regulars at the Swanage Jazz Festival, the trio is fronted by Paris born singer Véronique Joly, who was the featured vocalist on the BBC series ‘Rick Stein: French Odyssey’ and sings in English, French and Portuguese. Canadian saxophonist Terry Quinney is co-leader of the ‘The Sound Of Blue Note’ band and he has performed with UK jazz icons such as Nigel Price, Ian Shaw, Alan Barnes and Jim Mullen. Guitarist Rob Palmer is a member of the Afrobeat band Thokozile and has also worked with acclaimed vibes player Roger Beaujolais and Soft Machine saxophonist Theo Travis.
