DESCRIPTION:Swanage Jazz Festival				\n				\n				\n				\n									The 35th Swanage Jazz Festival takes place on Friday\, Saturday and Sunday the 10th\, 11th\, and 12th of July at the Mowlem Theatre\, and in two Marquees on Sandpit Field in Shore Road/De Moulham Road. It features a wide-ranging programme of over thirty well known and much-loved British artists. The Festival features New Orlean\, Mainstream and Contemporary Jazz as part of its ticketed concerts and also a completely FREE Fringe taking place in the Pubs and Hotels of the town. Weekend Strollers and Day Stroller tickets are available giving access to ALL concerts at all the venues and there is a generous discount for those living in the BH19 postcode\, there are also discounts for the Under 25s and accompanied Under 16s get in for free.  Also available are Single Ticket Concerts priced at £24. Single tickets are particularly popular for Friday’s Party Night in the Main Marquee\, this year featuring the Kim Cypher Band.  The New Orleans programme includes performances by The Pete Allen Big Jazz Band\, Roger Marks’ Fiesta Five\, The New Orleans Jazz Bandits\, The Bateman Brothers\, The Hot House Combo and The Riviera Ramblers. The Mainstream/Contemporary Programme features The Pete Roth Trio with noted drummer Bill Bruford\, Yetii\, Joe Webb and his trio\, Chris Batchelor and Rob Luft\, Ivo Neame and his trio and many more. Returning artists include Nigel Price and Alan Barnes\, the mellifluous Jo Harrop\, and saxist Alex Clarke with the ever-popular David Newton The programme reflects three significant jazz anniversaries: Miles Davis’s 100th birthday is celebrated with performances by The Steve Waterman Octet and Dorset trumpeter Andy Urquhart. John Coltrane’s 100th birthday is marked by a recreation of Coltrane and Hartman on Impulse! featuring Mark Lockheart and singer Marvin Muoneke. Last but not least British Jazz piano legend Stan Tracey is remembered with a performance of his timeless Under Milk Wood suite by his son Clark Tracey with his Sextet – including two narrators. Weekend Strollers and Day Stroller tickets are available giving access to ALL concerts at all the venues and there is a generous discount for those living in the BH19 postcode\, there are also discounts for the Under 25s and accompanied Under 16s get in for free.  Also available are Single Ticket Concerts priced at £24. Single tickets are particularly popular for Friday’s Party Night in the Main Marquee\, this year featuring the Kim Cypher Band.  The New Orleans programme includes performances by The Pete Allen Big Jazz Band\, Roger Marks’ Fiesta Five\, The New Orleans Jazz Bandits\, The Bateman Brothers\, The Hot House Combo and The Riviera Ramblers. The Mainstream/Contemporary Programme features The Pete Roth Trio with noted drummer Bill Bruford\, Yetii\, Joe Webb and his trio\, Chris Batchelor and Rob Luft\, Ivo Neame and his trio and many more. Returning artists include Nigel Price and Alan Barnes\, the mellifluous Jo Harrop\, and saxist Alex Clarke with the ever-popular David Newton The programme reflects three significant jazz anniversaries: Miles Davis’s 100th birthday is celebrated with performances by The Steve Waterman Octet and Dorset trumpeter Andy Urquhart. John Coltrane’s 100th birthday is marked by a recreation of Coltrane and Hartman on Impulse! featuring Mark Lockheart and singer Marvin Muoneke. Last but not least British Jazz piano legend Stan Tracey is remembered with a performance of his timeless Under Milk Wood suite by his son Clark Tracey with his Sextet – including two narrators. The Festival features New Orlean\, Mainstream and Contemporary Jazz as part of its ticketed concerts and also a completely FREE Fringe taking place in the Pubs and Hotels of the town. Weekend Strollers and Day Stroller tickets are available giving access to ALL concerts at all the venues and there is a generous discount for those living in the BH19 postcode\, there are also discounts for the Under 25s and accompanied Under 16s get in for free.  Also available are Single Ticket Concerts priced at £24. John Coltrane’s 100th birthday is marked by a recreation of Coltrane and Hartman on Impulse! featuring Mark Lockheart and singer Marvin Muoneke. Last but not least British Jazz piano legend Stan Tracey is remembered with a performance of his timeless Under Milk Wood suite by his son Clark Tracey with his Sextet – including two narrators.
