Join us for a special evening with the renowned journalist and broadcaster, Kate Adie. Get ready to hear fascinating stories and insights from her incredible career. Leading the proceedings will be Dr Will McConnell, consultant from the Dorset County Hospital.
From Tripoli to Tiananmen Square, from Belfast to Bosnia and many frontlines in between, Kate Adie’s reputation for uncompromising straight-talking and fearless journalism is hard earned. Kate received an OBE and the BAFTA Fellowship at the British Academy Television Awards, plus a clutch of Honorary Degrees. She has written four books: her autobiography – The Kindness of Strangers, Corsets to Camouflage, Nobody’s Child and, most recently, Into Danger.
Presenting the BBC’s flagship series, “From Our Own Correspondent” for decades, has maintained Adie’s insight into the world of frontline journalism and shone a light on the challenges of war reportage in the digital age.
Kate is the patron of the Dorset County Hospital Charity’s Emergency & Critical Care Appeal which aims to raise £2.5 million. A portion of the profits from this event will be donated to the Dorset County Hospital Charity’s Emergency and Critical Care Appeal, of which Kate is a patron.
