SW!M

The Mowlem Theatre & Diverse City are proud to present this live event on Midsummer’s Day performed by Swanage swimmers on stage in The Mowlem Theatre and on the beach right outside. Created, directed and performed by local women who have met through swimming in Swanage Bay, SW!M is a production for the whole community, with words, dancing and music.

? In Our Own Words: 6.00 PM in The Mowlem Theatre – A spoken production told using recorded conversations to relate the stories and experiences of these intrepid women who brave the waters all year round.

? In Our Element: 7.00 PM on the beach – A choreographed extravaganza in the sea performed by 50 local women swimmers.

Tickets are FREE for both performances, although there is limited availability for In Our Words.

Secure your place for In Our Words by booking your free ticket right now! Don’t forget to join us in the Show Bar afterwards for a selection of drinks and snacks with unmatched views of Swanage Bay.

The Mowlem & Diverse City Present SW!M

The Mowlem Theatre, in collaboration with Swanage based performing arts company Diverse City were awarded £9,995 by the Arts Council’s Let’s Create Jubilee Fund and Dorset Community Foundation, as well as a donation from The De Moulham Trust to help bring SW!M to life as a completely free multi-part performance as part of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

SW!M was also made possible due to the support of local businesses and partners, including dryrobe, Tilly Whims, Country Corner, Coast & Country, The Embankment Marina (Gravesend) Ltd, Burts Bits, Jurassic Outdoor and The Cellar Bar.

We’d also like to thank everyone at Purbeck Coast FM for their continued support and the staff, volunteers, and Trustees at The Mowlem Institute Charity for helping to make SW!M a reality.
