The Mowlem is looking for a new Chair of Trustees

Are you passionate about the arts and eager to make a meaningful impact on Swanage? The Mowlem is looking for a new chair to help shape the Mowlem’s future.

About The Mowlem

Situated in the heart of Swanage, The Mowlem is an essential part of cultural life in Purbeck.

We are a 380-seat venue hosting hundreds of events annually.  Our lineup includes theatre, film, music, and comedy. We support local amateur theatre groups and have recently introduced a visual arts space and small-scale studio performances.

We’re dedicated to accessibility, community involvement, and artistic excellence.  In recent years, we’ve expanded our public outreach, broadened our programming, and enhanced the overall audience experience.

With our newly appointed Executive Director, we’re focused on modernising our building, expanding our offerings, supporting local talent, and creating new educational opportunities.

The Mowlem Board meets 6 times a year.

The chair will lead the Board.  This vitally important post requires a strong interest in the arts, strong interpersonal skills, experience of a senior leadership role, and experience of charity governance.
