The Mowlem Shore Things
Pitches are now being accepted for the inaugural Shore Things at The Mowlem. The event will take place in The Studio at 2:30pm on Dec 6th 2026
We are after three new 15 minute pieces of performance looking for their first outing.
The event is a space for unfinished work: plays, monologues, poetry, dance, music, puppetry, anything that can be classed as ‘performance’. Pieces that would benefit from finding an audience and receiving feedback.
We are accepting submissions from across Dorset with a special focus on the Purbeck area. You can be an established creative workshopping a new piece, or this could be your first foray into the performing arts world, both are equally valid. What matters is how your piece sparks the imagination with its current and future possibilities.
Formats welcomed:
- Written: Plays, Monologues, Duologues
- Movement: Dance, Puppetry
- Spoken Word: Poetry, Rap
- Music: Classical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre
- Multidisciplinary work: contributions that mix mediums, disciplines and perspectives across all of the above.
Fee and In-Kind: All chosen pieces are paid £150. Each company will receive a 75min rehearsal slot with minimal tech support on the morning of the performance and a chance to chat and take feedback from the audience after the sharing.
